The ability to go from micro views of your business (right down in the tactical trenches) to zooming out and seeing how everything affects everything else is of the utmost importance for success in business (or in life in general). If you find yourself spending a lot of time planning and implementing SEO campaigns but finding that the conversion rate just isn?t there, try and pull out of the micro view and look at what is happening to your visitors before and after they enter your SEO campaign. On the front end for instance they are getting into the funnel through the search engine, so what keywords are you focusing on? How do they not only impact the results that are being displayed and the amount of people looking for that specific combination but what mindset do you think the person has when looking for that information? Are they motivated or at least open to buying something if the right message is presented to them?

One the opposite end, you need to ask yourself where is your SEO campaign taking them to? You?ve gotten them to click on the link, but are they instantly slammed with a hard selling sales letter? Or do you bait the hook with solid and free information hoping to slowly build trust and then sell them when a relationship is constructed? Where are the hiccups and disconnects between them paying for something and actually getting the product? What happens after they take possession of what you?re selling?

All of these different variables (and too many more to even begin to list) will have a direct impact on how well your business components will work ? your SEO campaign results in this instance may be skewed not because of the wrong keywords but because the ball is being dropped somewhere else down the line, and if you wrongly assumed this was the problem you could be fixing something that isn?t broken. Remember to think strategically with all of your online marketing and take time to separate yourself from the tactical, everyday activities to see how everything works in the grand scheme of things. The odds are good that you?ll see some problem areas as clear as day and will be able to boost conversions and profits almost overnight.
